Why does a Guardian cost less than a Biky?

The two are built differently: Guardian uses steel frames on its pedal bikes and one SureStop lever for both brakes; Biky uses 6061-T6 aluminum frames, two Tektro hand brakes on short-reach levers and sealed bearings, and weighs 1.3 to 6.5 lb less by the published figures. What is the difference between SureStop and two hand brakes?
