Common questions
Yes: the Biky Air 20 fits 5, 6, 7 and 8 year olds who are 43 to 51 inches tall with a 19.5 to 23.5 inch inseam. The seat starts at 21.5 inches, so both feet reach the ground at a stop. A smaller 6 year old under 46 inches still fits the Biky Air 16, which fits from 40 inches. From 49 inches the Biky Air 24 S7 also fits and gives more room to grow. Measure the inseam first with the Biky Finder.
The Biky Air 20 has two Tektro hand brakes, front and rear, and the lever needs 1.1 kgf (10.8 N) to engage the pads and 1.2 kgf (11.8 N) at full squeeze. Biky measured that with a hanging scale at the lever tip, October 2026, one bike each. The levers are short-reach alloy, sized for small hands. Reviews that mention a single rear brake describe an earlier build. There is no coaster brake, so the wheel freewheels and the child stops with the hands.
The Biky Air 20 fits a 19.5 to 23.5 inch inseam, and the seat adjusts from 21.5 to 28 inches with a quick-release clamp, no tools. Measure the inseam: the child stands against a wall without shoes, you put a book between the legs, and you measure from the floor to the top of the book. Start with the seat low enough that both feet sit flat on the ground. If the child falls between two models, the smaller wheel is easier to handle and the larger one gives room to grow.
The Biky Air 20 arrives partly assembled, and an adult needs about 5 minutes: mount the handlebar (4 mm hex, 6 Nm), attach the front wheel, install the pedals and clip on the reflectors. The box holds the pedals marked R and L, a white front reflector, a red rear reflector and the 4, 5 and 6 mm hex keys you need. A kickstand is added on request, as a gift: write to info@bikybikes.com when you order or after delivery and we send one at no charge. Lights are not included, though the rims and the tire sidewalls are reflective. You pick the color at checkout: Candy Cane, Bubble Pink, Splash Blue, Sunbeam or the Limited Edition, five colors in all.
Orders for the Biky Air 20 ship the same or the next business day and usually arrive in 3 to 5 business days, with complimentary standard ground shipping to the 48 contiguous states. 2-Day and Overnight are available at checkout at the carrier's rate, and shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico is $49 per order. You have 90 days from delivery to return the bike: email info@bikybikes.com first for the return address, and the refund goes back to the original payment method within 3 to 5 business days of the return arriving. Return shipping is on us: we email you a prepaid label.
The Biky Air 20 has one gear, weighs 13.8 lb (6.2 kg) without pedals and costs $499. The Biky Air 20 S7 has seven gears with a MicroShift grip shifter and a gear indicator, weighs 16.3 lb (7.3 kg) and costs $589. Both have 20 inch wheels and the same fit, 43 to 51 inches tall. Take the single speed for flat neighborhood riding, and the S7 for hills and longer rides.
Yes, the Biky Air 20 has a Hebie Chainglider: a closed cover around the whole chain, front and rear, so trouser legs, laces and fingers never touch the chain and the chain stays clean. A chainring guard on most kids bikes covers only the front sprocket; the Chainglider encloses the entire chain run. The front chainring is solid, with no cut-outs that could pinch a finger.
No. The Biky Air 20 ships with a freewheel and two Tektro hand brakes, front and rear, with short-reach alloy levers that need 1.1 kgf (10.8 N) to engage. The child brakes with the hands from the first ride and can pedal backward to reset the pedals, and there is nothing to remove or convert later.
